Mock Drafting where the LSU Draft Entrants end up
A week from Today, we'll see the start of some great NFL Careers as the NFL Draft takes place with six LSU Tigers nearly guaranteed to hear their names called while three players will more than likely get selected in the first round. Based on team needs and the information we've been hearing here is where to expect the LSU Tigers heading in the Draft.
Jayden Daniels - 2nd Overall Pick - Washington Commanders
The Draft truly starts with the second pick and the debate of Jayden Daniels Vs Drake Maye to Washington. As things currently stand, it appears that Jayden is the selection after his top-30 visit with the Commanders on Tuesday.
The selection of Daniels would give the Commanders a playmaker at the quarterback position with the dynamic ability they haven't had since drafting Robert Griffin III. The team desperately needs a franchise quarterback in a division with Jalen Hurts and Dak Prescott and Jayden Daniels help the Commanders get on the same level as both.
Daniels will have a loaded receiving core to work with in star receiver Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, Jamison Crowder, Dyami Brown, and Zach Ertz. He'll also have a group of running backs that can help ease him into the NFL with Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson Jr who can be safety blankets for Daniels.
After changing ownership and head coaches this past year landing in Washington would make Jayden Daniels the face of a new regime. The dynamic ability of Daniels paired with a defensive-minded head coach could allow the Commanders to quickly go from the worst team in the NFC East to a playoff contender.
Malik Nabers - 5th Overall Pick - Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers went under some massive changes themselves, hiring Jim Harbaugh while saying goodbye to franchise mainstay Keenan Allen. Here the Chargers land their next top receiver in Malik Nabers helping ease the pain of losing Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.
Nabers would instantly be paired with one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL Justin Herbert allowing for success early on in his NFL Career. He'd join a weaker receiving core led by former first-round pick Quentin Johnston, Trey Palmer, Will Dissly, and Hayden Hurst.
The Chargers are re-tooling but, still have the pieces to be in postseason contention despite being in the same division as the Chiefs. Pairing Malik Nabers with Justin Herbert is a combination for success for the Chargers and for Nabers early on. The team will need to add more playmakers later in the draft but, drafting Malik Nabers is a great start.
Brian Thomas Jr - 17th Overall - Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars have a serious need for receiving talent after losing Calvin Ridley to the division-rival Titans. The Jaguars addressed this need in free agency by signing Gabe Davis away from the Bills but, the Jaguars need to find a long-term plan at wide receiver. The Jags have shown an interest in Thomas hosting him on a formal meeting at the combine and on a top-30 visit.
Thomas Jr would instantly give Trevor Lawrence a go-to guy possibly for the duration of both of their careers. There's plenty to love about Brian Thomas Jr if you draft him as he's possibly the most explosive receiver in the class with the best RAC ability in the draft.
Thomas would give the Jaguars a threat to stretch the field as well with elite deep ball tracking. The Jaguars should be competing for a chance to win the division this season and landing Brian Thomas Jr would give them an elite receiving core to carry the offense. Pairing a young quarterback like Trevor Lawrence with a young receiver in Thomas Jr is a great recipe for sustained success for all parties involved.
