New York Giants Hard Knocks reveals that Giants feel they landed the top receiver in Malik Nabers
This Offseason, HBO launched a new edition of their hit show Hard Knocks with a new iteration centered around the draft and free agency. Given the fact that the New York Giants took Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick, the show promised to be a great watch for LSU Football fans but, so far it's out living expectations.
The biggest winner post-draft of this rookie class is by far Malik Nabers as everyone around the NFL and in New York feels like the Giants got an absolute star in Nabers. In an early episode this season, we saw Nabers and Jayden Daniels interview with the Giants at the NFL Combine and it was clear that Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll was enamored with Malik Nabers.
This week's episode reveals that the entire Giants brass was in love with the idea of drafting Malik Nabers. We saw Malik Nabers in private with Giants General Manager Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll where Daboll asked about Nabers' temper which was hilarious given Daboll's temper.
We also saw Malik Nabers on his top thirty visits alongside fellow receivers Marvin Harrison Jr and Rome Odunze. The Giants receivers coach ran the trio through board work before giving his intel to Giants owner John Mara about which of the three receivers he'd take if all three were there.
Brian Daboll has SEC ties himself as he served as Nick Saban's Offensive Coordinator in 2017. Daboll called up his former boss for some intel into which players were the biggest problems to face and well Daboll says it best.
The New York Giants training camp will become the "Malik Nabers show"
The New York Giants kick off their training camp today, and all eyes will be on the rookie receiver. The Giants haven't had a receiver as talented as Nabers since they traded away Odell Beckham Jr and the fanbase has been dying for a receiver of his caliber. The Giants said goodbye to their most popular player Saquon Barkley this off-season and its easy to see a world where Metlife Stadium is filled with Nabers jerseys by the end of the season.
