As the College Football season approaches, every college fan counts down the days until the start of the season. When the season kicks off, nothing should get in the way of watching your team especially for fans like LSU Football fans in the SEC. We only get 12 weeks guaranteed of watching our teams which actually really boils down to only 12 days. The sentiment for a ton of College Football fans is simply don't bother making any plans in the Fall on a Saturday I'll be watching football.
The biggest debate online sometimes is how criminal it is to have a fall wedding especially on some of these weekends where we have a loaded slate of football games. Wedding Company "The Knot" reported that October 12th is one of the most popular dates for weddings this year which is brutal for college fans when you check the schedule.
The Knot reports that Saturday, October 12th is one of the five MOST POPULAR wedding dates in 2024.

You'll be hard pressed to find another weekend that comes close to as strong as this slate of games is. A twitter user stepped into the fire giving his take on those who are against fall weddings with this opinion:
I cannot stand the “no weddings during football season” crowd anymore. Grow up. You’re 26.

The tweet seemingly brought out everyone on football twitter where football fans showed their support for their teams.
I’d rather watch a 3rd and 11 run from James Franklin in the fall than go to a wedding thank you very much https://t.co/CBbLZ7Kxgf

The alternative view point got many thinking maybe this is just a take in SEC Country as some of the country isn't as into college football as the rest of us. When fans found out the original poster was an Indiana fan it brought everyone out like callers on the Paul Finebaum Show to bash him.
It’s clear your team has never won an SEC Championship. https://t.co/F0gdWcxfAa

You could skip every Saturday being an Indiana fan to be fair

Indiana fan. Makes sense you don’t care if a wedding is scheduled during game time 😂 https://t.co/iZMbzqJost

While neither side will ever fully win the argument there were two clear winners of this full exchange. The first is this twitter users husband who flat out gets nothing should get in the way of College Football even if it's the birth of twins.
Yall are weak AF. My husband literally asked me to try and give birth to our twins on bye week. https://t.co/E7zgsBS4fh

The second winner is this twitter user who threw an idea out and I'm not sure if it's ever happened before but, if it has it certainly happened during an LSU tailgate.
what if the wedding is at a game? that could make everyone happy, maybe. Reception is the tailgate party. Cheap, easy, violently American.

To be totally fair, both sides are right and both sides are very wrong in this argument. Is missing a wedding to watch a college football game a little crazy? Yes. But, the detractors should remember that fan is short for fanatic.
