The emergent star in sports media has been Pat McAfee as the former All-Pro Punter has risen to superstardom in his post playing career with one of the most popular podcasts in the world. McAfee's brand has also grown through calling college football games, calling WWE events, and his appearances on College Football Gameday.

McAfee has been electric as a member of the show with incredible moments from his weekly kicking contests to trolling Georgia fans in hilarious fashion prior to this year's SEC Championship Game.

Pat McAfee has provided some memorable moments on College Gameday yet, he may not return for next season. McAfee himself has indicated that he plans on returning this season however, the Athletic reports that he has yet to reach a contract agreement with ESPN.

The most likely scenario is McAfee returns as he has a great relationship with Gameday mainstay Kirk Herbstreit and Gameday newcomer Nick Saban.

To long time fans of the show, McAfee is a hit or miss subject as some love him and others hate him. McAfee does play to a younger audience and when joining a long running cast such a change in personality is hard to get used to for the generation that grew up on the early iteration. For the students and fans on campus, you love McAfee as he engages with the crowd more than any other pregame host across sports.

We've seen Pat McAfee on the call and at Gameday for LSU games as he was in Tuscaloosa for this past years game. It would be a great environment if McAfee and gameday made the trip to Baton Rouge but, for now we'll all have to wait and see if McAfee returns to the Gameday to sing Callin Baton Rouge at LSU.
