Former LSU Baseball star Paul Skenes is on one of the most impressive year long runs going from NCAA Champion to First Overall Pick and now being named to the All Star Game. Every time Paul Skenes starts he continues to set franchise and rookie records with impressive starts ever since his MLB Debut.

Thursday saw Paul Skenes pitch seven no hit innings striking out 11 batters while walking just one batter. The outing marks the second no-hit bid Skenes has taken past the sixth inning becoming the second pitcher to ever have multiple outings of six or more innings pitched with 11 or more strike outs joining Nolan Ryan's 1973 season.

There's an argument that can be made that Skenes has been the best pitcher in baseball since he's been called up to the Pirates. Through 66.1 innings pitched Skenes has given up 48 hits, 13 walks, and seven home runs while striking out 89 batters with a 1.90 ERA. Opponents are hitting just .202 off of Skenes as he overpowers opposing batters. Since his May 11th MLB Debut, no one has posted a lower ERA than Skenes.

Paul Skenes should be the Starting Pitcher at the MLB All Star Game

The MLB All Star Game is right around the corner and the biggest debate right now is who should be the starting pitchers. The managers prefer to allow a veteran the opportunity to start but, the best outcome would be allowing Paul Skenes to make the start. Right now, there is no player creating as much buzz as Skenes is as every start is becoming appointment television. Not only would the biggest draw in the game get the chance to start but, you can easily argue that Skenes is the best pitcher playing in the game.
