Power Ranking the SEC after a hectic week in the conference
The Volunteers looked dominant once again in a game where they didn't get any push back. The fashion in which Tennessee is winning these games should be what concerns everyone as they're rushing for 336.33 yards per game with one of the best quarterbacks in the country just handing the ball off. This team is strong enough on both sides of the football to win the SEC but, the only issue may be their secondary which we've yet to see truly tested.
The Crimson Tide went up to Madison and handled business against the Wisconsin Badgers. It's tough to fully gauge how the defense did as Tyler Van Dyke suffered a season ending injury in game but, winning by 32 on the road against a Big Ten school is a good win. This team despite all of the turnover on the roster and in the staff has looked the part of an Alabama team but, they'll take a bye week before hosting the Georgia Bulldogs in a game that will shape the race for the SEC and the College Football Playoff.
It's tough to move Georgia down until someone not named Nick Saban beats them but, this weak showed a ton of the concerns that should scare Georgia fans. Kentucky looked much better in the trenches as Georgia sustained some injuries on their front lines which is a concern as they'll face Alabama next. Dominic Lovett has been their best receiver but, outside of him no one has been consistent on the outside. It's incredibly tough to replace elite NFL caliber talent at the rate Georgia has to and it looks like it may catch up to them this season offensively.
Most schools lose their starting quarterback for a few weeks and you'd put them on upset alert, that's not the case with Texas. Arch Manning has been phenomenal for the Longhorns in limited playing time granted it has been against inferior opponents. As things currently stand, you have to feel better about the Longhorns than the Bulldogs as Texas has more weapons on the outside that you have to worry about while Georgia's core is still developing.
