This week, the world got to experience the chaos that SEC Media is especially with two of college football's biggest brands Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC. Upon the conclusion of SEC Media Days the Preseason SEC Polls and All-SEC teams are announced with some shocking results for the LSU Football team.

The shock starts with the votes to win the SEC Championship where Georgia led the way with 165 points followed by Texas with 27 points, and Alabama with 12 points. The first three picks went as expected but then things get a little crazy as Ole Miss finished with 4 points followed by a tie between LSU and Vanderbilt at 2 points, and South Carolina with 1 point. While it's fair to question whether LSU will have a great season in 2024 it's impossible to see a world where Vanderbilt goes from one of the Nation's worst teams to winning the SEC, especially with Alabama, Texas, LSU, and Tennessee on their schedule.

The writers also voted upon the projected order of finish in the SEC where Georgia led the way again followed by Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, and LSU. Vanderbilt's two votes to win the SEC become even funnier as the Commodores were picked to finish dead last in the Conference by a wide margin.

The LSU Football team was highly represented in the conference writers All-SEC teams on both sides of the football. Offensively, Will Campbell was once again named to the first team while Kyren Lacy, Mason Taylor, and Emery Jones were named to the second team. The defense got less love as Harold Perkins was named to the first team and Major Burns was named to the second team.

The Tigers did have a few players receiver pre-season All-SEC Honors on special teams. Incoming transfer Zavion Thomas was named to the first-team as an All-Purpose player and the second-team as a return specialist. Long Snapper Slade Roy was named to the third team for his contributions as well.

This season is up to the defense for LSU

Anyone who talks about the LSU Football team is incredibly high on the offense despite losing three first-round picks but, the defense is always the wary subject. These pre-season SEC Teams continue to show how LSU's defense is lacking behind the offense in terms of expectations and talent. There will be incredible pressure on defensive coordinator Blake Baker and his staff to turn things around in a hurry because if not, this could be another season lost due to poor defensive play.
