After getting the rest of it's roster on campus, the LSU football program turned its focus toward recruiting as this weekend marked the first weekend of Summer Official visits. This weekend was a weekend filled with stars as LSU may have had the best group of talent on campus of every school in the country. Here are the biggest storylines out of Baton Rouge as LSU concludes it's biggest recruiting weekend of the summer:

Patrick Peterson returns to Baton Rouge to lend Corey Raymond a Hand

The LSU Football team had two of the Nation's best defensive backs on campus this weekend and who better to call in than Patrick Peterson? Peterson returned to campus this weekend helping Corey Raymond with recruiting five-stars DJ Pickett and Dorian Brew. DJ Pickett has a relationship with Patrick Peterson and his influence may be massive for LSU when it comes to landing Pickett. The Tigers also got an unofficial visit from four-star safety Bryce Fitzgerald who could become a massive target for LSU with his relationship with Pickett.

LSU Football picks up Crystal Ball for Elite Edge Rusher

Heading into this weekend, it looked like LSU would have to do a lot to challenge Notre Dame for Indiana native Damien Shanklin. Shanklin is a four-star recruit ranked as the Nation's 85th overall player and the 12th-ranked edge rusher. Shanklin was active on Social Media sharing his experiences this weekend showing how much he liked LSU.

Following the recruiting visit, Steve Wiltfong of On3 has placed a crystal ball prediction that LSU will land Damien Shanklin. Landing Damien Shanklin would be massive for LSU Football's second-ranked recruiting class. The Tigers currently have 11 commitments but, no commitments from Edge Rushers.

Massive progress for LSU on Moore, Ffrench, and Lockett?

The LSU Football team lost its second-ranked recruit Dakorien Moore as he de-committed from LSU appearing that he would be heading to Texas. This news hurt even more as Jaime Ffrench and Kaliq Lockett have had conversations with Dakorien Moore about all teaming up together. This weekend, LSU Football got to host Jaime Ffrench and Kaliq Lockett while Moore is set to visit in the weeks to come. The Tigers seemingly made a strong impression on Kaliq Lockett who described the visit as "much needed". The LSU Tigers will now look to make a strong impression on Dakorien Moore as they look to land the trio of top-five receivers alongside Bryce Underwood.

Other LSU Football recruiting storylines:

The LSU Football team looks to work on landing some players committed to other programs. Five-Star Interior Offensive Lineman Solomon Thomas was in town this weekend and LSU continues to make a solid pitch to Thomas. Bo Davis landed a commitment from four-star defensive tackle Brandon Brown just prior to arriving at LSU and it seems that Davis has a solid chance to flip Brown to LSU. Davis also has a chance to land four-star defensive lineman Zion Williams who Davis built a strong relationship in Texas. The LSU Tigers will host yet another star-studded group again next weekend so be sure to check Death Valley Voice for any updates.
