The injuries are out of control for the LSU Football team in the first half
The LSU Football team entered tonight's game for what should've been a celebration as Tiger Stadium celebrates its 100th anniversary. LSU is winning this game but, this game has been a nightmare for the LSU Football team. The Tigers faithful have seen impact player after impact player limp off of the field due to injuries.
Kyren Lacy came up a little hobbled after an overthrown deep ball from Garrett Nussmeier. He went to the tent where his legs were looked at and he was able to return. Lacy then caught a pass from Nussmeier and made a leap for the endzone which made everyone wince. When Lacy came down the officials hands went up and the fans hands went over their eyes as Lacy was laying in the endzone injured. He did return to the game but, given that his ankle was bleeding it's less than ideal and an injury to watch.
The most concerning by far is the fact that defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory may be lost for a massive portion of the season. Guillory left the game and when he emerged from the medical tent, he had a cast on his leg and was sitting in a wheelchair. If Guillory is seriously injured, the Tigers are in trouble as they're already undermanned at defensive tackle.
The biggest concern right now is Garrett Nussmeier as he exited the game on the final drive of the half with a leg injury. Rickie Collins looked solid in relief and all eyes are on whether or not Nussmeier can return for the second half.
Jordan Allen also was being looked at during this game as he dealt with an injury but, LSU will get Jardin Gilbert back in the second half.
Just get out of this game healthy
This game has quickly become a disaster for the LSU Football team despite the fact that they should be dominating. There have been mistakes on every side of the football but, the defense has looked the worst allowing two touchdown drives which spanned the length of a full quarter. At this point, the biggest concern isn't winning big but, winning and staying healthy as LSU can ill afford injuries to some of the starters.
