This weekend, the LSU Football team was on a bye week meaning the only way the Tigers would move up in the AP Poll was if they got help via upsets. The Tigers got the upsets they needed as Alabama, Tennesse, Michigan, USC, and Missouri all lost ahead of the Tigers.

The LSU Tigers didn't get any help in the AP Poll however as the Associated Press kept them as the 13th ranked team in the country.

While USC, Michigan, and Missouri fell behind the Tigers, Iowa State, Clemson, and Notre Dame moved ahead of LSU.

The Tigers were likely hurt by the fact that every team they've played this season lost which weakens their resume. Notre Dame likely jumped LSU despite being on a bye week as their win over Texas A&M continues to look better and better as the Aggies surge.

Looking ahead to the rest of the season, LSU will have a chance to pick up resume building wins over 9th ranked Ole Miss, 7th Ranked Alabama, 15th ranked Texas A&M, and 18th ranked Oklahoma.

This weekend will prove whether or not LSU has a chance at competing for a playoff bid or if the Tigers are once again a few pieces away. One of the biggest things working in LSU's favor is the fact that the SEC has been chaotic and LSU is one of three teams still unbeaten in conference play.

The LSU Football team still controls its own destiny with a month to go before the Playoff committee makes their first ruling on where each team stands.
