The LSU Football team was on the bye this weekend as they prepare for their matchup with the Ole Miss Rebels. Given that LSU was on the bye this weekend, it was out of their control whether or not they'd be able to move up in the AP Poll. That was especially hard as every one of LSU's wins and their loss this season lost this weekend denting LSU's resume.

While LSU didn't get to play this weekend, the Tigers will be moving up in the AP Poll in all likelihood and it'll likely be a jump into the top ten which will be the highest they've been on the season.

USC was ranked ahead of the Tigers at eleven but, after the Trojans suffered a loss on the road to Minnesota, they'll be sliding down the AP Poll. Michigan was ranked tenth this weekend and after a lackluster loss against Washington they'll tumble. Missouri got absolutley smashed by the Texas A&M Aggies meaning they'll drop significantly from 9th.

Miami hardly pulled out a win against California late on Saturday night but, given their recent struggles they could also drop a spot or two in the AP Poll.

Even way ahead of LSU, Alabama lost as the #1 team in the country to unranked Vanderbilt, #4 Tennessee lost to Arkansas, and Oregon has yet to play a solid game against a real opponent.

LSU is right where you'd want them to be

Forget the week one loss, but, if you were told that LSU was a top-ten team going into the second week of October, you'd be happy with the result. This weekend, the LSU Football team will take on Ole Miss who will also return to the top ten and the winner will be in a solid place to make the Playoff. We'd all prefer if LSU was undefeated but, its hard to be upset with where the Tigers currently stand.
