The LSU Football team leaves Colombia with a massive win showing this team has a ton of fight and the ability to dig themselves out of holes. By no means was this a pretty game in fact for most of this game the Tigers looked unorganized and there is a ton to clean up but, a win is a win and LSU now has it's first win of SEC Play.

In this game, the LSU Football team made so many mistakes and easily could've lost this game because of them. The Tigers had a punt blocked setting up an easy South Carolina touchdown drive that put the Gamecocks up 17-0. When the Tigers started scoring a botched extra point operation cost the Tigers a point and took another one off of the board on a missed two-point conversion which would've made the end of the game drive much easier.

The Tigers missed a few tackles on defense and took some bad angles setting up big touchdown runs by LaNorris Sellers and Raheim Sanders yet, they overcame it. When LSU was trying to take a lead they had a miscommunication leading to a botched snap and Garrett Nussmeier threw a pick into triple coverage yet, the defense made massive plays to keep LSU in this one.

The Tigers were even penalized nine times for 75 yards yet it didn't kill them in this game.

When South Carolina had a 49-yard field goal attempt to try and win this ball game, the Tigers survived once again as the Gamecocks hardly missed wide.

One of the biggest stories of the season was LSU's inability to run the football heading into this game. Then Caden Durham entered the game and a star was born as Durham ran the ball eleven times for 98 yards and a pair of touchdowns averaging 8.9 yards per carry. When LSU needed a score the most they turned to Josh Williams to punch it in and 18 delivered. As a group, LSU rushed 29 times for 157 yards and three touchdowns when you exclude sacks averaging 5.41 yards per carry.

Chris Hilton couldn't play again today and it was no issue as Aaron Anderson continues to fill his role beautifully catching five passes for a team-leading 96 yards averaging 19.2 yards per catch. Kyren Lacy and Mason Taylor continue to be uber reliable for this team each scoring a touchdown on the day.

Sage Ryan and Bradyn Swinson each forced a fumble with Harold Perkins and Major Burns recovering one a piece. Bradyn Swinson was the defensive star this game forcing the fumble and recording three sacks while he was pressuring South Carolina's quarterbacks all day. Zy Alexander made his first start of the game and recorded an interception in the endzone taking points off of the board.

This game truly flipped right before the end of the half as LaNorris Sellers suffered a leg injury right before the half and his injury crushed Carolina's offense.

A ton to be cleaned up but, that's just what this team needed

We all thought that the loss against USC was a wake-up call, we all thought that the Nicholls State game was a wake-up call, but, the Wake-Up call came this morning as LSU trailed 17-0 early on and was on upset alert all day. This team learned they could run the football as Caden Durham now looks like the lead back this team lacked. Against USC, this team couldn't get that one stop late in the game or get that go ahead touchdown they needed yet, today the Tigers got both done.
