The most interesting additions for each SEC Football team this offseason
The SEC brings in more talent than any other conference whether its from traditional recruiting or by poaching smaller schools rosters for elite transfer talent. The majority of these additions will play massive roles in the upcoming season and could be key pieces in their teams success. They may not be the biggest additions of the offseason but, they're the most interesting additions for their teams.
Arkansas Razorbacks - Monte Harrison
The Arkansas Razorbacks have a 29 year old true freshman and while his teammates pull in hefty NIL deals, but, Harrison has already earned $2.6 million. In 2018, Harrison was the centerpiece of the Brewers trade for Christian Yelich but, he now heads to Arkansas to play wide receiver.
Alabama Crimson Tide - Caleb Odom
While all of the talk around Tuscaloosa is about Ryan Williams the five-star 17-year-old receiver there's another true freshman that's turning heads. Caleb Odom was one of the top tight ends in the country in the past recruiting cycle but, Kalen DeBoer arrived and moved him to wide receiver. At 6'5 Odom is a matchup nightmare for any defensive back.
Auburn Tigers - Perry Thompson
The talk coming out of Auburn camp is mostly about Cam Coleman while Auburn faithful feel that they signed four stars at receiver in this class. One of those receivers in this Auburn signing class is Perry Thompson whom Auburn landed as the 12th ranked receiver in the class. The Tigers do have two transfers slated to start at receiver but, Thompson will earn playing time and will make plays as player built like an NFL Receiver at 18.
Florida Gators - DJ Lagway
Billy Napier has one of the hottest seats in College Football paired with an impossibly tough schedule in 2024. Napier returns a great starting quarterback in Graham Mertz but, DJ Lagway will be all anyone talks about in Gainsville. The Tigers landed the Nation's top quarterback this past recruiting cycle and it will be interesting to see how Napier handles his Quarterbacks especially if he starts losing games.
Georgia Bulldogs - Jahzare Jackson
Unless you're a basketball die-hard this name may not be too familiar but, Jackson's back story is fascinating. Jackson has spent the past few seasons playing in the Overtime Elite League and played AAU Basketball alongside Bronny James. Jackson likely won't play in 2024 but, at 6"10 340 pounds he's a fascinating recruit.
Kentucky Wildcats - Brock Vandagriff
The past few seasons we've seen Coach Stoops bring in a highly touted transfer quarterback and turn them into NFL Prospects. This year its Brock Vandagriff who was the highest regarded of any of the transfers out of High School. As a recruit, 24/7 Sports ranked Vandagriff as the 17th best player in the country and the 4th ranked quarterback. If Vandagriff can prove himself at Kentucky don't be shocked if this is another one of those seasons where Kentucky crushes expectations.
