The Three Boldest takes for the LSU Football team in 2024
Alabama isn’t the biggest test on LSU’s schedule
Nearly every season since the 2000's for the most part, the SEC and even the National Title felt like it was going to come down to Alabama Vs LSU. The two constantly faced off in games as top ten teams with undefeated records and the two best rosters on the team but, before the four team college football playoff the Tigers often got hurt by the one loss.
The Tide lost Nick Saban this off-season and a ton of talent to the draft and the transfer portal but, they enter the season ranked 5th in the AP Poll. The Alabama Football team is still a tough opponent with talent and depth in the trenches, a Heisman Contender at Quarterback, and skill positions that match up with anyone's in the country.
The Alabama Football team, however, won't be LSU's toughest opponent on the schedule in 2024. The Tide lose a ton of production on the defensive line and two first-round picks and the nation's top safety in the secondary. The Tide will be strong in 2024, but, LSU has tougher tests on the schedule.
For starters, the LSU Football team has to go on the road to Kyle Field where the Tigers will look to win for the first time since 2016. The Tigers will also host the Ole Miss Rebels who return most of their team that beat LSU last season but, add serious defensive transfer talent. To end the season, Oklahoma will be a massive test especially if both are competing to make the Playoff. The opening game can make a case as the toughest test as Lincoln Riley gets a whole off-season to prepare for this LSU football team.
