Unlocking Harold Perkins Jr

It's been two years of the same storyline, the Tigers are looking for the best place to play Harold Perkins Jr. It has taken long enough, and Blake Baker has to find a way to unleash Harold Perkins so he can be a play wrecker. Through two games, Perkins has made a real impact on one play where he recorded a tackle for a loss against USC in the first quarter. On the season, Perkins has made 11 tackles but, just two have been solo tackles while he hasn't recorded a sack.

Perkins should be LSU's best player defensively and a player that keeps opposing offensive coordinators up at night. The Tigers need to move Perkins closer to the line of scrimmage whether it's back at edge rusher or at the star position where Major Burns has struggled. Whit Weeks has looked like LSU's best linebacker and they can't keep taking him off of the field.

There are a few ways where LSU could deploy Perkins in this game that would help unlock him and help the Tigers in winning this game. Blake Baker could deploy Perkins as a quarterback spy where he could take away the threat of LaNorris Sellers' ability to run. After losing Jacobian Guillory for the season, LSU could bump one of their pass rushers inside and rush Perkins off the edge on passing downs. Blake Baker will need to deploy Perkins in a way that gives him a chance at changing this game for LSU if the Tigers are going to win on the road.
