The recruiting dead period is officially underway and while LSU can continue to land commitments, the coaching staff can no longer communicate with recruits until July 25th. There's a massive concern with the lack of defensive talent committed to LSU right now especially at the defensive back position where LSU is yet to land a commitment. Once recruiting resumes, Corey Raymond will need to make a massive push to land these three defensive backs if LSU is going to rebuild DBU.

DJ Pickett - 2nd Ranked Cornerback

The Five Star defensive back is one of the most highly sought after recruits in the country and LSU has made a massive push to land the Florida Native. Prior to Corey Raymond's return to Baton Rouge, the LSU Football team wasn't a contender in the recruitment of Pickett but, Raymond has made the Tigers a contender.

The LSU Football staff has put a full-court press on to land DJ Pickett getting Patrick Peterson on campus to help in the recruitment. The LSU Football team is in a battle with Miami, Georgia, and Oregon to land Pickett but, LSU appears to be in the drivers seat for Pickett.

Simply put, the LSU Football team can't miss out on landing DJ Pickett this recruiting cycle. The Tigers currently hold no commitments from defensive backs which is alarming at this point in the recruiting cycle. DJ Pickett could be the defensive side of the football's Bryce Underwood in terms of drawing elite talents to Baton Rouge. The LSU Football team will lose another group of starters this season and landing a player like Pickett may give the team a potential starter for 2025.

Jaboree Antoine - 6th Ranked Cornerback

The LSU Football team held a commitment from Jaboree Antoine since January until Sunday Night when Antoine re-opened his recruitment. Despite Antoine re-opening his commitment LSU is still in the race and with Antoine being an in-state recruit the coaching staff can't afford to lose out on landing Antoine. The Tigers didn't get Antoine on campus this Summer but, they'll need to emphasize how big of a priority he is and get him back into the fold.

CJ Jimcoily - 34th Ranked Safety

The LSU Football team brought in a great signing class at the safety position signing DaShawn Spears (McBryde) and Joel Rogers while bringing in two safeties via the transfer portal. Despite offering 22 safeties in this recruiting class, the LSU Football team is only in a great position with one safety.

The Tigers are one of the final two schools for Jimcoily along with Stanford despite heavy pushes from other schools. Safeties Coach Jake Olsen offered Jimcoily nearly immediately after taking the LSU job putting the Tigers in prime position to land Jimcoily. Landing Jimcoily would make the coaching staff and fanbase feel much better about the group of defensive backs LSU is bringing in.
