We're now two weeks into the College Football season meaning we've likely seen each team play one good opponent and one opponent much below their talent level. We saw SEC play kick off this weekend as Kentucky faced South Carolina while we'll see a few more SEC games this upcoming weekend. After the first two weeks of the season, here are our power rankings of the teams in the SEC.

. 530. missstate. . 16. . . . . 1-1

When Jeff Lebby took the Mississippi State head coaching job it was well known that he had a massive rebuild on his hands. The Bulldogs dropping their opening game against Arizona State showed just how far this group will need to come. The Bulldogs have a chance at a second win against Toldeo this weekend before facing Florida, Texas, and Georgia in their next three games.

15. . 1-1 (0-1). . . . . 15. . 528

Last weekend Kentucky won and looked impressive while South Carolina struggled against Old Dominion. The Wildcats then laid an egg getting dominated by the Gamecocks and things only get more difficult as Georgia comes to town. If Brock Vandagriff performs like he did this weekend we may see Rutgers transfer Gavin Wimsatt much earlier in the season than anyone would've hoped.

14. Aub. . . . . 1-1. . 525.

In Week One, Auburn dominated Alabama A&M and were one of the hottest teams in the country on the recruiting trail. The Tigers then allowed California to come into Jordan-Hare Stadium and knock off the Tigers. The biggest weakness on this Auburn roster is at quarterback and it's hard to believe that Hugh Freeze didn't pursue a top transfer quarterback as Payton Thorne clearly isn't the guy.

UFG. . . . 1-1. . . . 13. 526

Thankfully for Billy Napier, he got a much needed win this weekend against Samford which should ease the pressure on his plate in the short term. The Gators now have a dilema however, as DJ Lagway the five-star freshman clearly is the future of this team but, Napier may hand the quarterback role back to Graham Mertz. This weekend the Gators host the Texas A&M Aggies and another loss at home could cost Napier his job while a win further buys him time.

. . . . 1-1. . 12. 12 A&M. 535.

The Aggies dominated McNeese State this weekend and found their way into the win column. The issue is the loss they took against Notre Dame looks far worse after the Fighting Irish lost to Northern Illinois. The Aggies still have some tough road games ahead of them in addition to three games against team in the AP Top 25.

. 11. 524. . Arky. . . . . 1-1

Sam Pittman took a 21-0 lead into halftime this weekend against the Oklahoma State Cowboys and it started to look like he may be on the right path towards getting off of the hot seat. The Razorbacks then allowed 24 points in the second half before losing in overtime in a game they tried everything they could to lose. The back half of this schedule is a grind and the biggest question is seemingly whether or not we'll see Bobby Petrino as interim head coach.

10. . 537. 2-0. Vandy. . . . .

Nobody except for Commodores had Vanderbilt being 2-0 on their bingo card to start the season. This team picked up an impressive win in week one taking down a Virginia Tech team that a ton of people felt was a dark horse in the ACC before beating Alcorn State 55-0. Clark Lea may finally be turning this program around and it's exciting to see.

gamecocks. . . 2-0 (1-0). 9. . . . 533.

In Week One, South Carolina struggled mightily with Old Dominion making it look like the Gamecocks were one of the worst teams in the league. Then the Gamecocks decided to decimate the Kentucky Wildcats and suddenly, this looks like a team that could compete against some of the better teams in the SEC. This weekend will be a massive measuring stick game for the Gamecocks as if they improve to 3-0 with a win over LSU they'll have to be taken seriously.
