What LSU football fans did not get for Christmas

It’s Christmas Day and unfortunately, Santa forgot to put some things under the trees in LSU football fans’ homes. From new coaches to Notre Dame fan deterrent, we’re looking over the Death Valley Voice christmas wishlist.

4. We asked for the downfall of LSU football’s rival programs

We asked Santa to bring nothing but poor luck LSU’s rival programs this holiday season. We especially wished for the fortunes of the SEC juggernauts to spiral downward. But of course, Santa was no help.

Instead, we’re seeing the greatest LSU football foes continue to improve.

It seemed as though Santa Claus was delivering on our Christmas wish when Dylan Raiola de-committed from Georgia just prior to early signing day. However, the Bulldogs successfully flipped five star safety KJ Bolden from Florida State shortly thereafter. Kirby Smart then put a bow on his No. 1 recruiting class with a commitment from five star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV.

Not to mention, Georgia has made major gains via the transfer portal. Speaking of which, the work Lane Kiffin has done via the portal is incredible.

Kiffin’s 2023 defense at Ole Miss was often just as much of a sieve as LSU’s. In response, the Rebels head coach attacked the transfer portal hard, landing safety Key Lawrence (Oklahoma), edge rushers Tyler Baron (Tennessee) and Princely Umanmielen (Florida), and cornerbacks Decamerion Richardson (Miss State) and Tahveon Nicholson (Illinois).

Suffice it to say that the “Land Shark” defense might be legit in 2024. What’s worse is we think Ole Miss gives Penn State the business in the Peach Bowl, thus, pushing more momentum toward Oxford, Mississippi.

The downfall of Alabama would also be nice. Instead, we’re getting another Nick Saban run at a national championship on the heels of securing the No. 2 recruiting class for 2024. The Crimson Tide also secured a significant transfer player in defensive tackle LT Overton (Texas A&M).
