LSU Tigers - 13th Ranked - Underrated

When looking at this LSU team, the Tigers are always going to be in the wait and see category. The LSU Football team is tasked with replacing a Heisman winning quarterback, two first round receivers, and three of the best pieces of a defense that was awful in 2023. Despite the turnover, at Xth, the LSU Football team is underrated and here's why. The offensive line is the Nation's best which bodes well for Garrett Nussmeier's outlook at quarterback. Defensively, Blake Baker brings much needed change and the Tigers will be far more experienced than they have been in the past.

Tennessee Volunteers - 15th Ranked - Underrated

Two seasons ago, Josh Heupel got the monkey off of the programs back slaying Nick Saban and was in line for a College Football Playoff bid before Hendon Hooker was injured. The Volunteers have arguably their best roster this century heading into the 2024 season. The offense will be led by former top overall recruit Nico Iamaleava while he lands a top transfer receiver in Chris Brazzell II and a great left tackle in LSU transfer Lance Heard. Defensively, the Vols may have the best player in the country in James Pearce Jr while returning a ton of experience. The Vols do face a weak non-conference schedule but, if they beat either Alabama or Georgia they'll be a lock for the Playoff.

Oklahoma Sooners - 16th Ranked - Overrated

The Sooners at this point are the footnote to Texas joining the SEC and rightfuly so. The Sooners lose Dillon Gabriel and while Jackson Arnold is a great young quarterback, Gabriel's experience would be nice to have. Offensive Coordinator Jeff Lebby has left for Mississippi State after leading the Sooners to the fourth ranked passing offense in 2023. Joining the SEC with three transfer starters on the offensive line is less than ideal when joining a conference filled with loaded defenses.

Texas A&M Aggies - 20th Ranked - Overrated

The Aggies move on from the disaster that was the Jimbo Fisher era and move into a new era with Mike Elko at the helm. The Aggies saw another massive offseason of transfer losses headlined by Evan Stewart, Walter Nolen, and LT Overton all heading to National Title Contenders. Things got worse for the Aggies as starting running back Rueben Owens II will miss the season with injury. Long term, the Aggies are in a better place but, they won't finish the season in the top 25.
