There may not be a team playing as well as the South Carolina Gamecocks have been the last five games. This weekend, the Gamecocks handled business with ease throttleing Wofford to pick up their 8th win of the season. The final game of the season will give South Carolina one last shot to pick up a massive win over Clemson and a win may put them in the conversation for one of the final seeds in the College Football Playoff.
This weekend couldn't have played out any better for the Tennessee Volunteers as they got everything they needed for their College Football Playoff hopes. As long as Tennessee beats Vanderbilt, the Volunteers will be in the Playoff like they expected heading into the season. The Volunteers also get the benefit of being kept out of the SEC Championship Game meaning they'll likely host a game in Neyland.
This weekend, Georgia didn't play its best game allowing a 2-9 UMass team to pick up 226 yards on 40 carries fo 5.7 yards per carry but, Georgia still won with ease. The Bulldogs were one of the biggest winners in the SEC this weekend as they punched their ticket to Atlanta once again where they'll face Texas or Texas A&M. One of the best developments for Georgia the past few weeks has been the emergence of true freshman Nate Frazier who is starting to look like the next great back out of Georgia. This weekend, the Bulldogs face a scrappy Georgia Tech team but, they've put themselves firmly in the Playoff Picture.
While the Texas Longhorns haven't exactly proven they're the best team in the SEC on the field, everyone around them has done everything to prove they aren't the best team. This weekend, Texas got the job done on the ground as they ran the ball 46 times picking up 251 yards averaging 5.5 yards per carry. The biggest concern currently is the health of Quinn Ewers as he deals with an ankle injury but, when the defense and the running game are as good as they have been it's tough to beat Texas.
