The LSU Basketball team came into Tuesday Night with a chance to pick up their first ranked win of the season in the final road game of the season. Nearly minutes into the game it was clear the Tigers had no chance in this game as the Wildcats ran LSU out of the game in the first half and it only got worse as the game progressed. LSU faced a Kentucky team that came into this game 8-8 in SEC Play yet, the Tigers allowed Kentucky to look like one of John Calipari's teams loaded with NBA Prospects.

The Tigers couldn't have gotten off to a worse start falling behind 15-2 early in the game and despite a few flurries by the Tigers it only got worse. LSU shot just 37.9% from the field and went 0-8 from three while Kentucky made 58.8% of their shots while going 7-14 from three in the first half. The Wildcats dominated the glass grabbing 21 rebounds to LSU's 12 taking a 50-23 lead into the half.

The second half wasn't much better as Kentucky put the game far out of reach early on then took its foot off the gas opting to play keep away rather than attacking the Tigers. LSU was able to find some offense in the second half as Cam Carter heated up while Kentucky's defense softened.

Nothing went right for LSU in this game, especially as Kentucky was red hot shooting the basketball in this game. The Wildcats shot 50.7% from the field and 37.5% from three, which doesn't tell the full story as Kentucky started settling for bad shots once the game was in hand. The Tigers couldn't find the bottom of the basket, shooting 44.8% from the field and 27.3% from three, even with Kentucky taking their foot off the gas.

Robert Miller was the lone Tiger who had a solid game scoring 15 points on 7-11 shooting from the field Cam Carter finished the game with 14 points but, had a rough night shooting the basketball finishing 5-12 from the field and 4-6 from three. Jordan Sears was effective off of the bench scoring 13 points on 5-7 shooting from the field.

A demoralizing loss for the Tigers

Coming into this game it was expected that the Tigers would lose this game especially as the injuries had piled up but, everyone hoped for a more competitive effort. Instead, LSU heads into its final regular season game coming off of arguably the worst loss of the season. The entire focus for LSU Basketball now is what Matt McMahon can do in the transfer portal as its clear LSU doesn't have nearly enough talent to compete at a high level.
