After suffering a massive upset on Friday Night as the LSU Softball team fell 4-3 to Southeastern Louisiana it sent the Tigers on a much tougher path to surviving the Baton Rouge Regional. The path for the Tigers started with facing off against the UConn Huskies with the winner advancing to face off against Southeastern Louisiana.

The Tigers were desperate to keep their season alive and in the first inning the offense as able to string together solid at bats to get on the board. After the Tigers loaded the bases Tori Edwards drew a walk to put the Tigers up 1-0 in the 1st. The concern for the Tigers was that they left 3 runners stranded and in a do or die game you’d had to wonder if they’d regret it.

LSU would use the same formula again in the 2nd inning scoring a run on another bases loaded walk. This time around the Tigers would atleast drive another runner home as Tori Edwards hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Coffey making it 3-0 LSU.

As the game remained 3-0. LSU was able to load the bases once again in the 6th inning for McKenzie Redoutey. Redoutey lined one to left field and as the Huskies perfectly executed the relay it ended the inning keeping this game at 3-0.

One last time for good measure, the LSU Baseball team loaded the bases in the 7th inning but, Jalia Lassiter lined out to the left fielder.

The story of this game however wasn't the offense but, the outing that Sydney Berzon turned in for the Tigers. The Junior turned in 7 Innings of work without allowing a run while allowing just 5 hits with 5 strikeouts.

If LSU is going to do damage and make its way out of the Baton Rouge Regional, the Tigers' offense is going to need to find a way to start pushing more runs across. LSU stranded 14 runners in this game and multiple times the Tigers loaded the bases with little to no production.

The Tigers now have a quick turnaround as they'll face off against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions later tonight. The question now is whether Beth Torina will ride the hot hand sticking with Berzon or if she'll send Jayden Heavener back to the mound against Southeastern after they faced her on Friday.
