The 5 Biggest Winners and Losers of Week 12: The Vols, LSU, and BYU fall
Winner - Carnell Tate
The Ohio State offense has a ton of stars between Jeremiah Smith, Emeka Egbuka, Quinshon Judkins, and TreVeyon Henderson but, Carnell Tate often flies under the radar. As the Buckeyes played in Wrigley Field, Tate returned home to Chicago, and it was an emotional return to Chicago as Tate lost his mother in 2023. Ryan Day said that he and the team all knew how much the homecoming meant to Tate and he rewarded them with a pair of scores including an incredible catch.
Loser - Nebraska Cornhuskers
The season started nearly perfect for Nebraska as they jumped out to a 5-1 start putting them in an incredible place to make a Bowl game for the first time since 2016. The Cornhuskers have now lost four straight games putting them at 5-5 with two games left to win one and make a bowl game. The tests aren't impossible but, they aren't easy either against Wisconsin and Iowa.
The issue is over the last two years, the Cornhuskers have lost eight straight games when they've needed a win to gain Bowl Eligibility. These next two weeks will say a ton about Matt Rhule and his program in year two.
