On Monday, the Kansas City Chiefs released running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire as they juggle their roster as they deal with injuries. Edwards-Helaire hadn't played this season as he started the year on the Non Football Injury list as he dealt with mental health struggles off the field. Edwards-Helaire played 48 games with the Chiefs rushing for 1,845 yards and 12 touchdowns adding 765 yards and 7 touchdowns receiving. In the Playoffs, he gave the Chiefs 263 yards and a touchdown winning a pair of Super Bowl Rings.

On Social Media, Edwards-Helaire released the news thanking the Chiefs and their fanbase for his time there.

Now that Edwards-Helaire is on waivers, a team can claim him but, most likely he'll clear waivers and become a free agent.

If there is one team that should consider signing Clyde Edwards Helaire and the team we'd all love to see him on the most, it is the Cincinatti Bengals. For starters, Clyde Edwards-Helaire would be reunited with his LSU teammates Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase. The trio were electric in college and the chemistry would make him a natural fit as he's familiar with some of the players and has Playoff experience.

The Bengals have a need at running back as they continue to hope they can keep the Playoff hopes alive. Zack Moss is on injured reserve and aside from Chase Brown the Bengals haven't gotten much contribution from the other running backs in the room.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire could come in now and audition for a full time role with the team or he can sign this offseason and earn a role through the preseason. Given that the Bengals have no margin for error the rest of the way to make the Playoffs, adding weapons for what could be a stretch run would only make this team better.
