Day Three of the NFL Draft is underway as 155 of College Football's biggest stars will hear their names called becoming NFL players. The third day of the NFL Draft should be a parade of LSU Tigers as eight former Tigers hope to hear their names called. The latest LSU Tigers prospect to come off the board is offensive lineman Miles Frazier who was picked 171st overall by the Detroit Lions.
The Lions are getting a potential starter in LSU Guard Miles Frazier
While Miles Frazier was a guard during his three seasons at LSU the Lions could deploy Miles Frazier as an offensive tackle. During his time at FIU, Miles Frazier played Left Tackle earning freshman All-American Honors. At the Reese's Senior Bowl, Miles Frazier took reps at tackle and guard impressing NFL scouts and GMs at both positions.
Miles Frazier is a wide-bodied interior offensive lineman, giving him a sturdy base to hold up against the massive defensive tackles he'll face in the NFL. In pass protection, Frazier excels at picking up stunts, which will help him transition quickly to the schemes in the NFL. In the rushing attack, Miles Frazier uses his powerful frame and athleticism to handle his block at the first level before working his way to the second level.
Lions fans shouldn't be surprised at all if Miles Frazier makes a quick impression during Rookie Minicamp and training camp working his way into the starting lineup. Frazier comes to the NFL with 4 years of experience which when paired with his ability makes him a great candidate to transition well into NFL football.
Miles Frazier is a perfect pick for Dan Campbell and an absolute steal late in the 5th round of the draft. Frazier can come in can compete for playing time at right guard while long term he can be a solid building block as the Lions start to pay their young talent.
