As the NFL Season progresses, the Detroit Lions continue to look like one of if not the best team in the NFL. The Lions are fresh off of a Thanksgiving win over their NFC North Rival the Chicago Bears improving to 11-1. The lone issue for the Lions this season has been that the injuries have been piling up on the defensive side of the Football.

After the Thanksgiving game, Linebacker Malcom Rodriguez was ruled out for the season with a torn ACL. The Lions have lost Aiden Hutchinson to a leg injury, Josh Paschal and Levi Onwuzurike were injured on Thanksgiving, and Carlton Davis, Ennis Rakestraw, Derrick Barnes, and Alex Anzalone have all missed extended time with injuries.

As the injuries continue to pile up, the Lions signed a former LSU Tiger as a reinforcement to the defense.

Kwon Alexander has spent this season as a practice squad player for the Denver Broncos appearing in 3 games recording eight tackles three of which were solo tackles.

By joining the Lions 53 man roster, Alexander will have a better chance on playing each Sunday while the Lions get a veteran linebacker that can bridge the gap until some of the starters are able to return from injury.

The good news for Alexander is that he's spent the season with the Broncos so he should be able to step into the lineup right away especially as the team has some extra time to run him through the defense. In just 65 snaps this season, Alexander has a PFF grade of 90.8 so the Lions are getting a productive player.
