The LSU Tigers and Texas A&M Aggies are off to a high-flying start on Saturday night. Texas A&M leads 14-7 in what could be turning into a track meet. The LSU offense put together a tremendous scoring drive in the 1st quarter that resulted in a 5-yard touchdown pass from Garrett Nussmeier to Trey'Dez Green.
The drive lasted 8 plays and covered 74 yards in 4 minutes and 32 seconds. LSU never faced a 3rd down, as Nussmeier was a perfect 6-for-6. The surgical drive was a welcome sight to see for Tiger fans, who are hoping for more of the same the rest of the way.

Green used his massive 6'7" frame to haul in a back should pass from Nussmeier. Green has 3 catches for 26 yards on the drive, and has turned into a massive weapon for the Tiger passing attack.
The evolution of Trey'Dez Green
Green is a cheat code in the red zone. His elite athleticism, large frame, and strong hands make him a nightmare matchup against anyone. Nussmeier has stated that whenever Green is 1-on-1, he's wide open. his touchdown catch against Texas A&M came against a double team, and he made it look easy.
But Green is more than just a jump ball master. He's running route with elite precision, and has a strong ability to pickup yards after the catch. He doesn't go down easy, as it usually takes more than one defender to bring him down.
Green was dominant against South Carolina a few weeks ago, leading the Tigers with 8 catches for 119 yards and a touchdown to help lead LSU to a 20-10 win over the Gamecocks. For his efforts, he was named the John Mackey National Tight End of the Week. In addition, Green's PFF grade of 83.8made him the highest graded SEC tight end for Week 8.
Green is a former standout basketball player for the Tigers, and is making the most of his opportunities on the gridiron. He hauled in the game-winning touchdown in Week 1 against Clemson, and is up to 4 touchdowns on the season - which leads all Tigers receivers.
