At the end of the NFL Regular season, the Kansas City Chiefs released running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire allowing him to find a team where he'd be able to play. Edwards-Helaire made his homecoming as the Baton Rouge native returned to Louisiana signing with the New Orleans Saints.
It was a short tryout period for Edwards-Helaire who played in two games after not playing the entire season yet, he rushed for 46 yards on 13 carries while catching 3 passes for 24 yards. The Saints liked what they saw in Clyde Edwards-Helaire's brief tenure as they extended him on a one year contract.

It's incredible to see Clyde Edwards-Helaire getting another chance after his tenure ended in Kansas City and its extra special to see him playing in New Orleans. His career went off track due to injuries and other running backs emerging in Kansas City but, its impossible to believe that he still doesn't have the ability that made him a first round pick.
While Clyde Edwards-Helaire played for the last coaching staff, he'll need to impress the new coaching staff as the Saints hired the Eagles Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore. The hiring of an offensive minded Head Coach will be best for the Saints and Edwards-Helaire as it'll help in getting the most out of him.
Playing in the Saints offense for an entire season should lead to a ton of opportunity for Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Saquon Barkley just broke records in the Eagles' offense which was run by Kellen Moore but, running backs Kenneth Gainwell and Will Shipley also had solid roles in the offense as well. Alvin Kamara has dealt with injuries over the past few seasons and at times, Edwards-Helaire will get to be the featured back in what will be a contract year.
