The initial availability report for LSU Vs Florida shows great signs for both teams
The LSU Tigers matchup against Florida this weekend won't mean as much as their game against Alabama did but, its still a massive game for LSU. The Tigers need to win out the rest of the way if they want to keep any hopes of making the SEC Championship Game alive. On Wednesday Night, we got our first idea of who we may see playing this weekend as each team submitted their availability reports.
On the LSU side, Garrett Dellinger remains out after Tightrope surgery on his ankle along with everyone who has been ruled out for the season. CJ Daniels remains on the injury list but, is listed as Probable to play. West Weeks remains probable as LSU tries to not burn his eligibility so he can return next season. The only new name on the injury report is Freshman safety DaShawn Spears who is probable and likely in store for a bigger role this weekend.
On the Florida Gators side, DJ Lagway is questionable to play which is great news for Florida as he has been dealing with injuries the past two weeks leaving both games early. Running Back Montrell Johnson Jr is also listed as questionable which is big news as he last played for Florida a month ago. The Gators may also get their leading receiver Elijhah Badger back after he missed last weekend's game.
The Availability of DJ Lagway will decide if this is a game
If DJ Lagway plays and is healthy, Florida's offense can step up an give the Gators a solid shot at beating anyone as shown when Florida led Georgia before Lagway was injured. When Aidan Warner has to replace Lagway the Gators get much easier to defend as he's not nearly as explosive of a passer or a runner. Warner has faced two of the best defense in the SEC but, he's completing less than 50% of his passes which makes Florida much easier to defend.
