The NFL Draft had hardly kicked off before the Jacksonville Jaguars swung one of the biggest trades you'll ever see for a non-quarterback trading with the Cleveland Browns. The Jaguars traded the 5th overall pick, the 36th overall pick, the 126th overall pick, and their 2026 1st round pick for a package headlined by the second overall pick.
Looking to make a splash, the Jacksonville Jaguars moved all the way up to the second overall pick to land Colorado star Travis Hunter.
While the deal may end up being a massive overpay, the Jacksonville Jaguars identified their top target and quickly moved up to select Travis Hunter. While Travis Hunter may look to play both sides of the football, Liam Coen is an offensive minded Head Coach who will love to see what Hunter can do as a wide receiver.
In landing Travis Hunter, the Jacksonville Jaguars pair him with Brian Thomas Jr quickly forming the most exciting young wide receiver duo in the NFL. Coen just worked with two great wide receivers coaching Mike Evans and Chris Godwin yet, this duo could blow the Bucs duo out of the water.
As a Rookie, Brian Thomas Jr put together one of the best seasons by a wide receiver in franchise history. Thomas Jr caught 87 passes for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns ranking 3rd in the entire league in receiving yards.
Now the Jaguars put an incredible weapon opposite of Brian Thomas Jr as Travis Hunter will garner a ton of attention himself. The two star wide receivers will get to work off of eachother and opposing defenses will have a tough time corraling this duo.
The Jaguars invested a ton into Trevor Lawrence selecting him 1st overall and giving him a massive contract extension. It's now time for Trevor Lawrence to prove himself and the team has given him the weapons to win the AFC South and go on a deep run in the Playoffs.
