The LSU Football program did an excellent job as they've built up the Nation's third ranked recruiting class. The coaching staff did this by landing most of its commitments prior to the season adding around the edges throughout this season. The biggest concern with that strategy is that opposing schools have a ton of time to work on flipping recruits.

We've seen this throughout the season as Miami pushes to keep DJ Pickett at home and as Michigan tries the same with Bryce Underwood. This is always a threat when you land elite talents out of state but, this staff has done a great job keeping the class together.

The Tigers may lose one commitment in the near future in tight end commitment Mike Tyler. The three star tight end committed to LSU back in August as the 32nd ranked tight end in the class and the 611th ranked player overall according to On3's industry recruiting rankings.

The in-state South Carolina Gamecocks have a ton of momentum right no coming off their massive win over Texas A&M. That will help with the momentum South Carolina was building with Mike Tyler as 24/7 Sports has predicted he'll flip to South Carolina.

Now Tyler is still on board with LSU and remains a player the staff is really high on but, there is certainly some momentum for the Gamecocks.

Where LSU stands if they lose Mike Tyler

The Tigers do have another commitment at tight end in JD LaFleur and he's firmly on board as the son of David LaFleur. If LSU loses Tyler, they likely won't pursue another tight end from the High School ranks as they'll likely look to add to that position for an experienced transfer. LSU will likely lose Mason Taylor to the NFL Draft but, they will return two very capable players in Trey'Dez Green and Ka'Morreun Pimpton.
