The LSU Football program offers the teammate of a current commit
This past week, LSU edge rushers coach Kevin Peoples made the trip up to Indiana to watch LSU commit Damien Shanklin in his game. While People was there to watch Shanklin another defensive lineman caught his eye in Shanklin's teammate Jerimy "JJ" Finch.
This recruiting cycle, the LSU Football team landed the top recruit in the state of Indiana in Damien Shanklin. The Tigers will have the chance to do it again next season as On3, Rivals, and 24/7 Sports all ranke JJ Finch as the top player in Indiana and a top forty defensive lineman in the 2026 class.
While Baton Rouge is a long way away from Indiana, the LSU Tigers can make the state a pipeline of sorts. The Tigers will have an advantage over any out of state school as Brian Kelly spent 12 seasons in South Bend.
Since arriving in Baton Rouge Kevin Peoples has been massive for the LSU Football Program. On the field, Peoples has helped transform LSU's pass rush as Sai'Vion Jones and Bradyn Swinson have had incredible starts to the season. On the recruiting trail, Peoples has been an ace landing top-100 recruits in Damien Shanklin and Jesse Harrold.
