This weekend will be one of the biggest recruiting weekends of the year as LSU hosts recruits on campus for the Tigers Junior Day. On February 3rd, the recruiting dead period will go into effect until March meaning this is the last weekend where LSU and every other school can host recruits.

Junior Day is far different than recruiting weekends for games where LSU hands out hundreds of tickets to players they may never even truly push for. On Junior Day, the top targets for LSU come to the event and it's a great chance for the staff to build relationships with the players. The recruits on campus also start to build bonds over their visits and getting the same groups on campus often only helps the team when it comes to landing a massive class.

This weekend, LSU will be getting two of their top commitments on campus as Safety Aiden Hall and Defensive Lineman Richard Anderson will return to campus. Getting the Edna Karr teammates on campus is massive for LSU as the Tigers push to ensure that two of their top commitments and two of the best players in the state stay home. The Tigers also get the added boost of having two commitments on campus to help in recruiting other players.

Richard Anderson is one of the most sought after players in the Country ranked by On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings as the 34th ranked player in the Country, the 2nd ranked defensive tackle, and the 3rd ranked player out of Louisiana. Anderson is an incredible talent and the level of defensive lineman that can step in as a true freshman and rush the passer from the interior. Anderson was the first commit in the class but, as other schools start to call it'll put some pressure on LSU.

As things currently stand, Aiden Hall would be far and away the best addition in LSU's 2026 recruiting class. On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings have Hall ranked as the 38th ranked player in the Country, the 5th ranked Safety, and the 4th ranked player out of Louisiana. Aiden Hall is a physical player who's a hard hitting throw back of a safety while he's also flashed ball hawking skills.

The Tigers are heading into the weekend with the 5th ranked recruiting class in the 2026 recruiting cycle and are without a commitment in the 2027 cycle. If the weekend goes well, LSU could leave with a few commitments which would be a great way to head into the dead period.
