The LSU Women's Basketball team had a hectic week last week as the snow pushed the matchup with South Carolina to Friday making it a quick turnaround as LSU returned home to face Texas A&M on Sunday. The week offered mixed results for the LSU Basketball team as they lost their first game of the season to the Gamecocks but, beat the Texas A&M Aggies.
As a result of the lost to South Carolina, the LSU Women's Basketball team has slide down the AP Poll Rankings form 5th to 7th.

The ranking and the slide down the AP Poll is a bit disrespectful towards the Lady Tigers when you look at the Tigers resume and their lone loss. The Lady Tigers have three Top 25 wins and the lone loss by the Tigers came on the road against South Carolina who hasn't lost a game at home since December 17th, 2020. The Lady Tigers didn't play their best game yet, they only lost by ten points on the road and in a weird situation as the game was adjusted last minute due to snow.
The LSU Women's Basketball team is being punished for losing a close game to a team that has dominated every team in it's path with the UCLA Bruins being the only team that has been able to knock off Dawn Staley's team.
Ahead of LSU is three two loss teams and while all three teams in Notre Dame, Texas, and UConn, they have more losses to LSU and in the case of Notre Dame they've lost to an unranked opponent.
This week, Kim Mulkey's team has two chances to improve their resume as they'll face off against 13th Ranked Oklahoma at Home and Unranked Mississippi State at home. Two wins this week especially one over Oklahoma should get LSU back on its path up the AP Poll.
