The LSU Women's Basketball team is off to a stellar start to the season jumping out to an 18-0 record and a 3-0 start to SEC Play. The team is clicking on all cylinders as Kim Mulkey's unit is smoothing out some of the issues we saw earlier in the season. The LSU Lady Tigers entered last week as the 6th Ranked team in the Country, after knocking off 16th ranked Tennessee, the Lady Tigers are finally moving up in the AP Poll.

The Lady Tigers jump up one spot in the poll moving from 6th to 5th with the winning week. The Tigers hold Top 25 wins over 21st Ranked NC State and 15th Ranked Tennessee which is incredible this early into the season.

The SEC is loaded this season with 7 Top 25 teams which will make the rest of Conference play entertaining to watch down the stretch.

The Lady Tigers received 625 points in this weeks poll which is just one more point than last week which is a surprise. LSU is now 55 points behind the USC Trojans who are ranked 4th and 148 points behind top ranked UCLA who has been at the top of the AP Poll for 8 straight weeks.

The Week ahead for the LSU Women's Basketball Team

The goal for the LSU Lady Tigers is to continue their winning ways as the bumps in the AP Poll will only continue as long as LSU continues to win. The Lady Tigers kick this week off facing off against a very dangerous Vanderbilt team on Monday Night. The Tigers then finish the week by going on the road to take on the Florida Gators who have struggled this season. Two wins this week for Kim Mulkey's team would be another great stride toward earning a better ranking especially as the schedule continues to get tougher.
