In the fourth inning, the LSU Baseball team started a parade of baserunners to draw first blood. LSu would push its first run across on a bases loaded walk by Steven Milam, the Tigers would then push a second across on a fielders choice groundout by Luis Hernandez.
In the bottom of the 4th inning, Texas got to Anthony Eyanson like LSU got to Luke Harrison scoring two runs of their own. The Longhorns were able to string together three singles in a row followed by a ground out to tie the game.
Just like LSU did in the first game of this series, any time the Longhorns put pressure on LSU, the Tigers put the pressure right back on Texas. LSU started the 5th with a walk and a hit by pitch which set Jared Jones up to crush an RBI double. Jay Johnson then pinch hit Jake Brown for Ethan Frey and he dunked the perfect single into Left Field to give LSU its two run lead once again. After a passed ball, Steven Milam was able to hit a sacrifice fly to make it 5-2 LSU.

In the bottom of the 5th, Texas fought right back to keep this game a tight contest. Anthony Eyanson allowed a walk and a single which ended his day, Conner Ware came on to replace Eyanson but, after a wild pitch which scored a run and a walk, Johnson called on William Schmidt. Schmidt would get the first Texas batter out but, he then surrendered a three-run home run to Rylan Galvan which gave Texas a 6-5 lead.
It didn't get any easier for William Schmidt who then let up a double and a pair of walks without recording an out sending Jay Johnson back to the bullpen calling on Connor Benge. Benge quickly came on and stopped the bleeding getting a flyout to end the inning.
In the top of the 6th, LSU answered the bell once again this time with a two out rally. Chris Stanfield was able to get on base with a two out single which set the table for Derek Curiel to blast a home run to left giving LSU a one-run lead once again.

In the Bottom of the 6th inning, LSU was able to put together a shutout inning thanks to a pair of incredible plays by Steven Milam.
In the bottom of the 7th, Texas tied the game up once again with an absolute no-doubt solo home run by Jalin Flores. As Conner Ware got in trouble allowing another two Longhorns to reach base, Jay Johnson went to the bullpen again this time calling on DJ Primeaux who struck out the first batter but, surrendered a single to give Texas a one run lead.
In the bottom of the 8th, Texas doubled their lead making it 9-7 before blowing this game open with a two run single which made it 11-7 Longhorns. The Tigers weren't able to get anything going in the ninth inning as the Tigers dropped their first SEC game of the season.
This game was far and away the worst showing by LSU's bullpen as no one was truly able to carry LSU through multiple innings. Jay Johnson had to deploy seven relievers in this game, three of which couldn't get an out after getting 4.2 innings pitched out of Anthony Eyanson. The bullpen without Zac Cowan who closed Friday's game and Gavin Guidry needs a third pitcher to emerge as a multi-inning stopper.
LSU's offense had another solid showing as they constantly kept battling back in this game against a great pitching staff. Jared Jones' three hit game and Derek Curiel's massive home tun were the highlights of this game but, the bottom half of the lineup couldn't get much going aside from Chris Stanfield.
The LSU Tigers now head into Sunday looking to win the rubber match against the Longhorns on Sunday Afternoon.
