The SEC men's basketball schedule has been released. The 144-game slate includes 18 conference game days for the LSU Tigers.

LSU begins and ends its SEC schedule against Texas A&M. The Tigers open SEC play on Saturday, Jan. 3 against the Aggies in College Station. LSU wraps up league play by hosting Bucky McMillan's squad on Saturday, March 7 at the PMAC. The first home conference game for the Tigers comes on either Tuesday Jan. 6 or Wednesday Jan. 7 against South Carolina.

Each SEC team plays the other 15 teams at least once during league play. Meetings will take place a second time on three occasions, with two of those opponents being permanent opponents, and one that changes each season. LSU's permanent opponents are Texas A&M and Arkansas, with this year's third opponents being South Carolina. The Tigers will play the Aggies, Razorbacks, and Gamecocks in a trio of home-and-home series' this season.

Tiger fans are ready for more SEC success in 2025-26

The Tiger basketball program has fallen on tough times. LSU won just three SEC games last season and posted an overall record of 14-18. The Tigers have not made the NCAA Tournament in three straight seasons, and fans are hungry for a better season in 2025-26.

LSU head coach Matt McMahon enters his fourth season at the helm with a conference record of 14-40, which equates to a .259 winning percentage. McMahon and his staff dipped into the transfer portal to round out their roster for the upcoming season, and the massive overhaul gives Tiger fans plenty of players to be excited about heading into the new campaign.

This season, McMahon will need to show that he's capable of taking the program back to the NCAA Tournament, as well as competing at a high level in the gauntlet that is the SEC.
