Throughout the 2000's LSU has built the reputation for developing some of the most elite wide receivers at the college level and eventually the NFL level. While LSU has done a ton in developing elite wide receivers, it all starts with recruiting. The LSU Football program has consistently landed some of the top wide receivers on the recruiting trail on a yearly basis.
On the recruiting trail, here are LSU Football's five highest rated wide receiver commitments of All Time:
Early Doucet

The highest rated wide receiver commitment of all time for LSU came from Wide Receiver Early Doucet who was ranked as the 3rd best player in his class, the top wide receiver recruit, and the top player out of Louisiana according to Rivals. The Tigers were able to keep Doucet at home over Miami, Oklahoma, Florida State, and Florida and it culminated with LSU winning the 2007 National Championship. Doucet never posted the eye-popping numbers you'd expect in Today's era but, he was LSU's one of LSU's go to guys.
Tristen Keys

LSU's latest wide receiver will rank as the 2nd best wide receiver recruit in program history if he stays on board with LSU. 24/7 Sports ranks Tristen Keys as the 4th ranked player in the 2026 class and the top wide receiver in the class with a 98 grade which ranks him as the 9th best recruit to commit to LSU. The Tigers still have to get Tristen Keys across the finish line but, his talent and recruiting ranking speak to his ability.
Reuben Randle

One recruiting analyst described Reuben Randle as a cross between AJ Green and Julio Jones which should tell you all you need to know about the level of recruit he was. Randle was ranked as the 2nd best player in his class, the top wide receiver in the class, and the top player out of Louisiana. In his three seasons at LSU, Randle caught 97 passes for 1,634 yards and 13 touchdowns earning first-team All-SEC honors in 2011.
Terrence Toliver

In the 2007 recruiting class, LSU was able to go into Texas and land the Nation's 13th ranked player and the 2nd ranked wide receiver in the class. While Toliver's career numbers aren't eye popping, he was constantly one of LSU's most productive receivers in a different era than Today's era and would've benefitted from better quarterback play. Toliver still managed to make the Freshman All-SEC team, win a National Championship in 2008, and was the MVP of the 2011 Cotton Bowl.
Terrace Marshall Jr

While Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase are remembered the most from LSU's 2019 National Championship team, but, Terrace Marshall Jr was right there with them at the College level. Prior to his injury, Terrace Marshall Jr was leading the team in receiving. Marshall finished the 2019 season with 671 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns as a massive part of the Tigers record setting offense. If not for injuries and opting out of the COVID season, Marshall's numbers would rank among All Time greats at LSU but, his production in 2019 will always be under appreciated.
