The College Football season is nearing its end while the NFL season ends for half of the league on Sunday. The NFL Draft is right around the corner and aside from the quarterback position this has the looks of an absolutely loaded draft class. Arguably the most loaded position in this upcoming draft is the tight end position.
Tyler Warren and Harold Fannin Jr both posted wide receiver like numbers this season while Colston Loveland, Gunnar Helm, and Mason Taylor did a bit of everything for their teams this season. As Draft season begins, the following five teams standout as potential landing spots for Mason Taylor.
New York Jets
This offseason the Jets will need to do a ton of reloading especially if the team moves on from Aaron Rodgers and Devante Adams. One position the Jets will need to address is tight end as Tyler Conklin will be a free agent. Taylor would be the perfect addition for a Jets team that may have a Rookie quarterback as he'll be a safety blanket as well as a player that can pave the way in the rushing attack for Breece Hall.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have done an incredible job building this season as they've cracked the playoffs in the first year under Jim Harbaugh. As the Chargers passing attack has improved the position the Chargers haven't gotten a ton of production out of is at Tight End. Mason Taylor is the perfect Jim Harbaugh player as someone that embraces run blocking and being physical while excelling as a receiver. Taylor could join Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston in building a young receiving core.
Denver Broncos
While Bo Nix and the Broncos passing attack have taken a massive jump in 2024 the tight ends haven't given the team a ton of production. The leading tight end for the Broncos has 188 yards receiving meaning they need to get better at the position. Adding Taylor would make a ton of sense for the Broncos as he'd be on the same timeline as Bo Nix while also giving them a productive piece to lean on.
Washington Commanders
This season the Washington Commanders have found out that they can win at a high level with Jayden Daniels, now its about surrounding him with other solid pieces. The Commanders have gotten incredible production out of Zach Ertz but, he'll be a free agent at 34 years old. Adding Mason Taylor would give the Commanders a player Jayden Daniels already has a chemistry with while he'd bolster both the passing and rushing attack.
Indianapolis Colts
This offseason, the Colts need to add a ton of talent on offense as the team tries to figure out if Anthony Richardson can be the quarterback long term. The Colts have stacked solid wide receivers but, they're another team that isn't getting a ton of production from the tight end position. Mason Taylor has played in the ideal version of the Colts offense as he blocked on designed runs for Jayden Daniels while also being his security blanket.
