The LSU Basketball team is looking to build momentum coming off of a massive last second win over the Oklahoma Sooners. The momentum may not just be on the Basketball court but off of it too as Matt McMahon looks to start ramping up his recruitment of elite recruits in the 2026 class while positioning LSU to perform well in the Transfer Portal.
Back in October, the LSU Basketball program made an intriguing offer when the Tigers offered Australian Native Marcus Vaughns.
The Tigers and Marcus Vaughns have remained in contact and this week, the Tigers will look to solidify their push as Marcus Vaughns travels from Australia to Louisiana to visit the Tigers.

Vaughns will be in town as the Tigers host the South Carolina Gamecocks in a game that the Tigers should be able to win. As Marcus Vaughns looks to weigh his option, LSU will not only have to make the pitch that they're the best program for Marcus Vaughns but, they'll also need to pitch Vaughn on why College Basketball is better for his development than the National Basketball League in Australia.
The 6 foot 7 shooting guard is the son of NBA Draft selection Brian Vaughns and could be one of the most sought after recruits if he chooses to play College Basketball. On3 currently ranks Vaughns as the 122nd best player in the Country and the 40th ranked small forward in the 2026 recruiting class.
The X-Factor for LSU in the recruitment of Vaughns will be Associate Head Coach David Patrick who rejoined the staff prior to this season. Patrick was crucial in brining Ben Simmons from Australia to LSU and his role as an assistant coach on the Australian National Team could prove to be a massive key in this recruitment.
