The LSU Basketball team entered Wednesday Night with a chance to make a statement as the Tigers hosted the Nation's top seeded Auburn Tigers. The fanbase showed up in a big way as LSU looked to add a massive resume building win to help their NCAA Tournament chances.

The LSU Tigers started this game perfectly aside from giving up far too many offensive rebounds. Then the wheels started to fall off the wagon as LSU started to play sloppy basketball as the Tigers turned the ball over 15 times leading to 11 Auburn points. The LSU Tigers started the half 2 for 3 from three but, would make just one of their next seven attempts. Cam Carter got into early foul trouble and it instantly derailed the offense.

Every time it looked like Auburn may run away with the game in the second half, LSU instantly put themselves back in the game. Jordan Sears had an incredible stretch making a three while drawing a foul converting a four point play before hitting another three scoring 7 points in 34 seconds.

Any time the LSU Basketball team put together a massive stretch it felt like Auburn found their rhythm pushing the lead back into double figures. The defense simply had no answer for Johni Broome and every time Auburn was in trouble he stepped up and scored or found his way to the free throw line.

In the end, Johnni Broome, Turnovers, and losing the rebounding battle cost LSU as the Tigers never could bridge the gap.

Cam Carter put up the performance LSU needed to even have a chance in this game scoring 24 points on 7 of 9 shooting making both of his three point attempts. The only complaint you could have about Carter's game was the fact he didn't shoot more often as he was on fire in this game. After Carter, the only other Tigers to score in the double figures were Dji Bailey with 13 and Jordan Sears who scored 11.

The difference in this game once again was turnovers which have plagued LSU all season as the Tigers can't take care of the basketball. LSU turned the Basketball over 20 times while Auburn turned it over just 9 times but, Auburn scored 22 points off of turnovers to LSU's 10 points which was once again the difference in this game.

Matt McMahon's team is playing hard and they're playing team's close but, as long as they continue to turn the Basketball over at such a high clip they'll stand no chance. LSU shot better from the field but, Auburn shot the basketball 29 more times than the Tigers due to turnovers and losing the rebounding battle.
