The transfer portal officially opens on Monday December 9th meaning players can officially enter the transfer portal while teams can officially add players via the portal. One of the positions that LSU will be actively pursuing is the wide receiver position as the Tigers replace Kyren Lacy, CJ Daniels, Shelton Sampson Jr, and Landon Ibieta. Insiders have already reported that LSU will be pursuing Wide Receivers so we should start to see more news once the portal is open.

As Alabama found out their season wouldn't result in a playoff berth, the Tide started to see their players declare they'll be entering the transfer portal. Two Wide Receivers that should be of interest to LSU are Kendrick Law and Caleb Odom.

Law is a former Top-100 recruit, and was one of the three receivers from Louisiana to sign with Alabama that have since transferred out of Alabama alongside Aaron Anderson and Shazz Preston. During his time in Tuscaloosa, Law hasn't been utilized well and ends his career with 33 catches for 343 yards and a touchdown.

Kendrick Law wouldn't be that top end wide receiver that LSU is looking for but, he'd be an interesting addition for the Tigers. Law is the best with the ball in his hands similar to Zavion Thomas or Aaron Anderson and if you use him out of the backfield, as a returner, or on screens you'd see a ton of success. LSU is expected to spend big in the transfer portal but, given Law's production he likely won't break the bank.

The more intriguing option of the two wide receivers is True Freshman Caleb Odom who will also enter the transfer portal.

Odom was a five star recruit last recruiting cycle but, didn't get to play a ton in a loaded Alabama Wide Receiver room. Where Odom stood out the most as a recruit was as a tight end with his 6 foot 7 frame but, Alabama chose to use him as a receiver. If LSU pursued Odom, they could deploy him as either a wide receiver or as tight end. Odom may be a redundant piece as LSU has Trey'Dez Green and Ka'Morreun Pimpton who both fit the same style of play.

We'll have to see which Wide Receivers LSU reaches out to and how quickly LSU is able to wrap up the recruitments of some of these transfers.
