The LSU offensive line has had its fair share of struggles this season. The running game has been essentially non-existent, as the Tigers rank 116th in the country in rushing yards per game with 112.9. Pass protection was a major issue in this past weekend's loss at Vanderbilt, as Garrett Nussmeier was under duress early and often. For a unit that is already struggling, an injury to starting left tackle made life even more difficult for the Tigers against the Commodores.

Adams went down with an ankle injury in the 1st quarter and was unable to return. He was seen in donning street clothes on the sideline in the 2nd quarter. With a massive game against No. 3 Texas A&M coming up on Saturday, a further update on Adam's status has been announced - and it's not what Tiger fans want to hear.

Tyree Adams injury update

Adams has already been ruled out for Saturday's contest vs Texas A&M. His absence comes at the worst possible time for the Tigers, who are about embark on their toughest stretch of the season with games against No. 3 Texas A&M and No. 4 Alabama.

DJ Chester and Weston Davis took on bigger roles against Vanderbilt with Adams sidelined. Neither of them performed well, with both posting PFF pass blocking grades in the 30s. That is just one metric to keep in mind, but the fact of the matter is that Nussmeier was dealing with tons of pressure all game long. The Tiger QB put forth a gutsy performance to give his team a chance, but it wasn't enough.

The LSU offensive line has already been banged up this season. Starting center Braelin Moore has missed time and is currently playing hurt with his own ankle injury. Furthermore, starting guard Paul Mubenga has missed multiple games with a high ankle sprain. Not having Adams in the mix is the latest blow, and the Tigers will need to get on the same page before facing the Aggies. With Adams out, Chester, Carius Curne, and Ory Williams could be in line for bigger roles on Saturday.
