On Thursday Night, Will Wade's run at McNeese hit its peak despite the fact it'll be ending in the near future as McNeese pulled off the upset knocking off Clemson in the 12 Vs 5 matchup. The internet is in love with watching McNeese and student manager Amir Khan but, for LSU Basketball fans the entire situation is frustrating.

The entire season as the LSU Basketball team struggled the fanbase looked over to Lake Charles to see the Cowboys dominating play in the Southland Conference. While the Southland is much weaker than the SEC, LSU fans couldn't help but wonder what could've been if Will Wade never got in trouble with the NCAA.

While LSU fans are split on whether LSU should've done more to back Will Wade, the one thing LSU fans can agree on is the fact no one wanted the situation to unfold the way it did. The Tigers made three straight NCAA Tournaments under Will Wade which would've been four if not for the pandemic canceled season.

While Will Wade made the three NCAA Tournaments, he only coached in the bubble tournament as he was suspended for the wiretap in 2019 and was fired before the 2021-22 tournament. The LSU Basketball program has gone downhill since Will Wade's departure but, he's just as much to blame for the downturn as Matt McMahon is as every player either entered the draft or transferred out of LSU before Matt McMahon's arrival.

In the end, LSU Basketball fans never wanted Will Wade to be fired, and if there were no NCAA issues they would've gladly held on to him as long as he didn't get a better job. The NCAA Tournament will just be frustrating for LSU fans as Wade was the right man for the job but, he got caught doing something many others have but, he was one of the few that got caught.
