On Saturday, LSU Gymnastics competed in the second annual Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad against Oklahoma, Utah, and California three of the final four teams from the 2024 season. The stakes couldn't have been higher as the early season matchup provided a snapshot of the nation's top gymnasts at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma. LSU, Oklahoma, California, and Utah leveraged their roster depth and team execution to maintain a slight edge throughout the meet. While LSU Tigers ensured they weren't just part of another meet—it was a statement, the Tigers are here to stay again in 2025.

Team Results: Oklahoma Reigns Supreme

Oklahoma Sooners lived up to its No. 1 ranking with the season's highest score of 197.950, followed closely by LSU at 197.650. For those who missed the meet, Oklahoma's flawless execution was simply poetry in motion, affirming their position as the team to beat this season. The LSU Tigers showed a 0.3 dip in their lead; however, it promised consistency and improvement from last week's season-opening score of 197.30 against Iowa State. No. 6 Cal Bears scored 197.275 to finish third, while No. 4 Utah Red Rocks completed the field with 196.800.

Looking Ahead

Historically dominant Sooners clinched the NCAA gymnastics "Meet of the Year" while tensions rose on the Tigers side over questionable scores. LSU is no longer considered an 'underdog' in NCAA Women's Gymnastics, LSU continues to prove they are serious contenders for the second straight national title. Next up, catch LSU in action at Baton Rouge, Louisiana against No. 3 Florida on January 17.
