The Transfer Portal has been hectic especially for the LSU Football team as the Tigers have added 13 players while 17 players have entered the transfer portal. The first transfer portal window is set to close on Saturday, December 28th. That deadline however is just the first of many deadlines as for the teams who haven't played their Bowl Games yet, there could be more to come.

The LSU Football team is among the group of teams that still haven't played their Bowl Game as the Tigers will take on Baylor in the Texas Bowl on New Year's Eve. After LSU plays their Bowl Game along with other schools in Alabama, Michigan, Louisville, Washington, Illinois, South Carolina, Boise State, Baylor, and Penn State a 5 Day window will open where players can enter the transfer portal.

That extra window to enter the Transfer Portal will open on January 1st and run through January 5th.

There is one clear way this could effect a program like LSU as well as the others playing in Non-College Football Playoff games. Given that players have already left via the transfer portal, new players will play in the Bowl Games. If a player who isn't expected to play much next season has an incredible performance in the Bowl Game it may drum up some new interest from other programs which could lead to them entering the transfer portal.

The rules to the transfer portal are especiall confusing as there are different transfer rules for graduate transfers and regular transfers while each school seemingly has a different end date for when they can expect their roster to be set.

The next full transfer portal window opens on April 16th and will run through April 25th allowing players to enter before Summer Camp if they lost positional battles in the offseason. The final window that may open is if a Head Coach leaves a program opening a 30 Day Window to transfer, this shouldn't effect LSU unless they target a player from a program that sees a departure.
