The Lady Tigers land in the Spokane Region 1 along with Top seeded UCLA, 10th ranked North Carolina, and 15th ranked Kansas State. The Lady Tigers current draw is beneficial despite drawing the top overall team as the Tigers have lost to South Carolina and Texas but, wouldn't have to face them until a potential NCAA Tournament Final.
The seeding is nowhere near set as there are still several games remaining for each team in the regular season as well as Conference Tournaments. The Lady Tigers still have plenty of chances to pick up ranked wins which in turn could lead them to landing a one seed.
The winner of the SEC Tournament if its LSU, Texas, or South Carolina will almost certainly get a one seed. The Lady Tigers could also earn a one seed by winning out the rest of the regular season while also going on a deep run in the SEC Tournament.
The Lady Tigers are currently 27-2 and 12-2 in SEC Play heading into their matchup with the 20th ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. A win over Alabama would give LSU yet another Top 25 win boosting their resume before the Regular Season finale against Ole Miss.
All LSU may realistically need is a loss or two ahead of them and a deep SEC Tournament run which has become a tradition under Kim Mulkey.
