The LSU Basketball team is off to a rocky start to SEC Play with a 1-5 record there's no denying that the Tigers aren't off to the start you'd hope for to start the SEC Schedule. The Tigers started off the year nearly perfectly with a 11-2 record out of conference play. The Tigers have seen their start take them from on the NCAA Tournament Bubble to well on the outside of the tournament picture. If you look at LSU's schedule, the Tigers fortune may start to change this week.

Thus far the LSU Tigers have played six games in SEC Play, four of the games have been on the road while just two have been in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The Tigers are 0-4 on the road losing by double digits to Texas A&M, Missouri, and Texas A&M while losing by seven to Alabama.

When the Tigers have been at home, in those two games the Tigers have split beating Arkansas but, lost to Vanderbilt.

While on the road, the LSU Basketball team is scoring just 65.5 Points Per Game while allowing 77 points per game. At home its a smaller sample size but, the Tigers are scoring 75 points per game 9.5 points per game more but, they're still allowing 77 points per game.

This week, LSU has two tough games at home as they face the Top Ranked Auburn Tigers and the Texas Longhorns. As things currently stand LSU is on the outside looking in when it comes to the NCAA Tournament. A win over Auburn would go a long way giving LSU a Quad One win, a win over Texas would help giving LSU another Quad Two win, but, winning both games would put LSU right back into contention.

The stats show that the Tigers are a better team at home and the game against Alabama showed that LSU is getting used to the pace and physicality of league play. If the home crowd can show up and make the games a difficult environment for Auburn and Texas, LSU could leave this week in the mix for an NCAA Tournament bid. It's getting late early for the LSU Basketball team and getting wins this week would go a long way.
