During this wild era of College Football, some of the storylines that have unfolded on the recruiting trail have only started to get crazier. The LSU Football team has found itself at the center of several of these stories especially when Bryce Underwood flipped his commitment to Michigan landing the biggest NIL deal yet.
While LSU has had a dominant stretch on the recruiting trail which has led to the Tigers holding the Nation's top recruiting class, the Tigers have suffered some setbacks. During this cycle, two recruits have decommitted from LSU in JaReylan McCoy and Jakai Anderson and the Tigers aren't out of the race for one of the players.

According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, McCoy ranks as the 161st ranked player in the Class, the 17th ranked defensive lineman, and the 8th ranked player out of Mississippi.
The timeline between LSU and JaReylan McCoy has been a wild rollercoaster ride that isn't quite over yet. Early in January, it came as a surprise when JaReylan McCoy committed to LSU during the Under Armour All-American Game. Nearly a Month later, JaReylan McCoy skipped out on LSU's Junior Day instead attending Ole Miss' who doesn't even crack the Top 3 before being predicted to land at Ole Miss and decommitting from LSU. The Tigers now land in the Top 3 for McCoy which keeps the Tigers in this race.
The LSU Football team is recruiting McCoy as an edge rusher which is a position of need for the Tigers. LSU currently doesn't hold a commitment at the position and after signing just one edge rusher last cycle, the Tigers need to load up in this class. Getting McCoy back on board would be a massive win for the Tigers as he'd rejoin the Nation's top defensive tackle Richard Anderson in LSU's class.
