Jacoby Stevens — Safety — Senior

Jacoby Stevens is a versatile defensive back that can be used in a variety of ways on the field. He can play in coverage, or he can line up close to the line of scrimmage. Stevens is an effective blitzer and he’s solid against the run. He’s just an all around great football player.

Stevens would’ve undoubtedly been an early round draft pick in 2020, but he likely wanted to solidify his status as a first round pick by returning to LSU for his senior season.

I could see Stevens being one of the first safeties selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. Maybe somewhere around the middle of the first round.

Stevens was LSU’s second leading tackler last season (92). He also had three interceptions, five sacks and nine tackles for loss. Stevens is essentially the “quarterback” of LSU’s defense and it should be fun to see how he’s used by new defensive coordinator Bo Pelini, who is known for using his players in an “attacking style”.
